Impact numbers

I was thinking about the impact numbers I've been seeing and wondering how that translates to impact transferred to the body. What caught my eye was the higher impact numbers I was seeing from my most cushioned shoes (Hokas). Whether a road version or trail version Hoka, they had higher impact numbers typically than less-cushioned shoes. They are also the heaviest shoes I own so maybe that has something to do with it? But my legs feel better running in Hokas so I'm not sure what to think about the data. I need to do more testing with consistent pacing as the pace will also effect impact. Just curious if anyone else has been testing several different shoes and saw anything interesting.
