Another benefit I've found from tracking L&R shoes separately is being able to determine why some shoes don't work for me.
Last month I ran in a pair of Brooks Pureflows, and it didn't end well. My left shin and ankle were quite painful.
Earlier this week I tried a run in a pair of Hoka Conquests that I used when I first took up running, when it was more of run/walk/run. The results were similar to the Brooks, although I cut the run off much earlier.
It appears, if I'm reading the data correctly, that in both these shoes I supinate approx 15 degrees in MP-TO, where I don't in shoes that work for me.
Somehow I run in a way that works in seemingly very different shoes, Altra Paradigm, Saucony Virrata, Hoka Bondi and in a way that doesn't in seemingly very different shoes, Pureflow, Conquest.
